What is Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710)?

The Magna Carta of Women (MCW) is a comprehensive women’s human rights law that seeks to eliminate discrimination through the recognition, protection, fulfillment, and promotion of the rights of Filipino women, especially those belonging to the marginalized sectors of society.

It is the local translation of the provisions of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women’s (CEDAW), particularly in defining gender discrimination, state obligations, substantive equality, and temporary special measures. It also recognizes human rights guaranteed by the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).

Live-in partner or ex-live in partner. Boyfriend/girlfriend or ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend.

Gender and Development (GAD) System Functional Assessment, and 6 Year GAD Agenda Enhancement Workshop

The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) successfully conducted the Gender and Development (GAD) System Functional Assessment, and 6-Year GAD Agenda Enhancement Workshop last July 18 and 19 at the Sen. Pia Cayetano Hall of the NACC – Central Office in Quezon City.

The NACC, under the leadership of Undersecretary Janella Ejercito Estrada, consistently supports gender equality, and all GAD initiatives.

Assistant Secretary Rowena Weng Macalintal, and Director Imelda R. Ronda joined the two-day workshop along with the GAD Focal Point System – Technical Working Group (TWG).

Gender and Development Comprehensive Training

The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) hosted a transformative four-day Gender and Development (GAD) Comprehensive Training at the Sen. Pia Cayetano Hall of the NACC – Central Office.
From Tuesday to Friday, participants who are now designated members of the GAD Focal Point System – Technical Working Group (GFPS-TWG) engaged in impactful sessions aimed at fostering gender equality, and implementing programs that are gender-responsive.
